“I know there are fans waiting for my return as an idol…”
In April 2022, ex Rose member Son Naeun she made her official exit from the girl group that debuted in 2011, as media reports speculated that the decision was for her to focus on her acting career.

Years later, in an interview following his successful performance in JTBC K-Drama Romance at homethe idol-turned-actress mentioned retiring and spoke about fans’ hope for her return to K-Pop.
When asked about the intense reaction she received in the process of leaving the group, Son Naeun said it didn’t bother her.
Apink fans have heavily criticized Son Naeun’s decision not to participate in the group’s special album promotions
Calling his time like Apink a “beautiful and precious memory” since she was in her teens and twenties, Son Naeun agreed that it was “a great loss” he was unable to participate in the album’s final promotions.
I think too often, regret and hold on to past events. But to be honest, it all seems pointless. The present is the most important thing and I want to focus on what is happening now.
I don’t feel offended [about the backlash from leaving the group]. I filmed everything for the music video of the 10th anniversary album, but due to scheduling conflicts I was unable to participate in the activities. I felt sorry for the members and fans, and I myself felt a great sense of loss. But we were together for a long time through our teens and twenties, [Apink] it remains a beautiful and precious memory.

I had a strong desire to stay with the team until the end, but in the end this was no longer possible and I had to accept. So instead of feeling offended or sorry, I decided to let things go as they did.
I don’t keep in touch with the members now, but as a fan I will always cheer for them. I was happy to see Eunji’s work (Miss Night and Day) was going well, and I was happy that my work aired after his. I look up and observe whatever the members are involved in. They are all working hard and I support them wholeheartedly.

…and respectfully clarified that he has no plans to return to the K-Pop scene for a while.
Now it’s time for me to focus on acting and figure myself out in this new career path. As I started enjoying acting more, I developed a desire to learn more. Of course, I know there are fans waiting for my return as an idol. If the opportunity arises in the future, I would like to organize a fan meeting to quench their thirst for my music.
