Ra Mi-ran Talks Early Struggles in “Yoo Quiz on the Block”

During the episode, which aired on October 2 with the special title “Growing well”Ra Mi-ran jokingly introduced herself as “Professor of the Camping Department of Ra Mi-ran University”. He also discussed his upcoming projects, including the tvN drama “Jeongnyeon: The Star is Born” and the Italian episode of the show “Europe outside your tent”.

A graduate of the masquerade dance club of Seoul Institute of the Arts, Yedae Folk Research Association, Ra Mi-ran shared a lighthearted moment with fellow senior Yoo Jae-suk, noting: “You give off an old-fashioned feel. Disco with masks has a heavy and old-fashioned atmosphere.” Yoo responded with humor, “I wasn’t old fashioned, but a lot of my friends were,” before Ra Mi-ran revealed that she learned the Korean Shaman Dance from Song Eun-i. This prompted Yoo Jae-suk to joke, “Song Eun-i used to do this all the time in school.”

The conversation then turned to Ra Mi-ran’s experience in camping, where she revealed her impressive collection of over 10 sleeping bags and 20 tents. “I love the sound of birds when I wake up in the morning and that crisp sensation in my nose,” he shared. Being from Gangwon-do, he recommended several campsites, including Anbandegi with its view of Ulsanbawi Rock, and described his enjoyment of seasonal dishes like spicy octopus and scallop shabu-shabu.

However, the most touching moment came when Ra Mi-ran spoke about her difficulties during her early days. “When I was pregnant, we had no income. Both my husband and I were at home and neither of us were doing well professionally. That’s when I discovered flea markets and started selling our household items,” he revealed.

“The flea markets were only open on weekends, but I wanted to sell on weekdays too. So I would sit on a mat in front of Soongsil University and then Hongdae Playground,” Ra Mi-ran continued. “It may have seemed pitiful or strange to others, but I actually found it funny. During the winter, when I was pregnant there, the owner of a nearby shop even gave me a scarf. When I earned 20-30,000 won, I bought side dishes to eat.”
