SM Entertainment’s New Idol Group Is Going Viral, But It’s Not K-Pop

A new idol group is going viral, but it’s not exactly K-Pop.

MYOTRO It is a group of five-member trotting boys formed through the SM Entertainment AND TV Ciosun reality program Falling in love with a Trot-dol: Noonas in love.

A preview was recently released, which features five members. The group is made up of former MR. MR. member and Mr. Trot 2 competitor Youactor Seo Woohyeok, THE BEGINNERSShoheiactor Jung Yoonjaeand previous Mr. Trot 2 competitor I am Chaepyoung.

The clips have been circulating on social media, getting netizens excited about their upcoming debut. They have gone viral on X (formerly Twitter) and TikTok with 3.9 million and 634 thousand views, respectively, as of this writing.

Trotting idols are usually associated with ohjumma (older or middle-aged women) fans, who are devoted and loyal. However, the clips posted have all ages ready to support. Many are self-proclaimed ohjumma prematurely.

Even older fans are happy to see a group debut without minors but with men in their twenties.

However, some K-Pop fans are already afraid of the challenge of voting against them, knowing that their fan base will be so devoted and large. Many are happy for the idols’ debut, because they have had their challenges. One of those challenges is Shohei.

The show will debut in the first week of October, but the group’s debut date is currently unknown.
