Lee Sung-kyung dreamed of becoming a musical actress for 16 years, but thought she was too tall

On September 16, Lee Sung-kyung appeared as a guest alongside MeloMance in a video on Seong Si-kyung’s YouTube channel, I will listen to you.

Lee Sung-kyung, who will make his musical debut with “Aladdin” this November, revealed, “I dreamed of becoming a musical actor for 16 years. When I was a model before my acting career, I thought I couldn’t do it because of my height.”

With his impressive singing and piano skills, Lee Sung-kyung added: “When I was younger, I wanted to pursue classical music. Sometimes, when actor friends come to visit, I accompany them on the piano. Since actors rarely sing, they are always excited when I play with them. It feels like a life experience.”

He explained, “Whether you sing well or not, experiencing how the accompaniment follows your breathing is something new. So when my actor friends come to visit, I play the accompaniment for them.”

Describing herself as a music “nerd,” Lee Sung-kyung said, “Usually when you ask people what their favorite musical is, they mention their favorite show. Mine is Bonnie and Clyde; I’m completely in love with one song in particular.” She showcased her melodious voice performing “How ’bout a Dance?” with MeloMance.

After finishing his song to applause, Lee observed: “I was so nervous at the end.”

Seong Si-kyung, who sang “Come What May” with Lee, joked, “It felt like we were at karaoke, singing whatever we wanted. Great job!” and smiled.
