This complaint emerged in the context of the NewJeans members’ live guerrilla broadcast of 9/11, where they expressed their desire to Min Hee Jin to be restored and ADOR to be restored to its previous state by September 25th. During the live broadcast, Years She also made a bombshell revelation, claiming that the director of another HYBE group had encouraged them to ignore her when she welcomed them into the agency building.

The livestream has sparked outrage among NewJeans fans, who have accused HYBE and ADOR of violating labor laws in their treatment of members. Many have filed workplace harassment complaints with the Ministry of Employment and Labor. In fact, according to the ministry, as of September 13, they have received over 100 complaints regarding NewJeans and ADOR.

According to the labor rights group Workplace Bullying 119, Hanni’s ignoring of her colleagues at HYBE could be considered workplace harassment under South Korean labor laws. Since NewJeans members have a contract with their agency, provide labor, and are paid for it, they qualify to fall under the jurisdiction of employee labor laws.

The relevant labour inspector confirmed that the investigation into the complaint will be carried out according to the usual procedure.

Meanwhile, there are rumors that NewJeans may attempt to leave HYBE via a legal battle. You can read more about that here.
