This is not the first time that such an error has occurred.
HYBE Labelsa giant in the Korean music industry, functions as an umbrella company that has many sub-agencies that all work independently to manage their artists when it comes to creating and promoting music. The various subsidiaries under HYBE include GREAT MUSIC, I LOVE IT, Pledis Entertainment, SOURCE MUSIC, AND CAUSE.
However, a recent social media blunder has led netizens to criticize the multi-label system, including BIGHIT’s TXT and KOZ THE BOY NEXT DOOR.
On September 13, netizens shared a screenshot showing that a recent BOYNEXTDOOR video had been shared to TXT’s official X account.
Netizens pointed out that this wasn’t the first time a group’s promotion was done on another account, including a video by ENHYPEN posted on a Jungkook Weibo promotion and BOYNEXTDOOR program released on ENHYPEN’s Japanese X account.
When the photo was posted, netizens criticized the mistake.
Netizens explained that if all labels were meant to operate independently, it would mean that each company handles promotion for their own group and only has access to accounts related to their own company. Some netizens even wondered if they were struggling to maintain this system, asking if it was so difficult to have different staff instead of one person handling everything related to social media.
- Isn’t that basically a lie to shareholders? The independent label isn’t doing well, and it looks like the staff numbers are heavily inflated. A lot of money must be going under the table.
- It’s not the first time, lol. There are a lot of different groups too, lol.
- Wait, why are they handled that way when they are under another agency? I don’t understand.
- It should be a label system, so why should one entity manage everything?
If it were the same company, people wouldn’t say anything. - Isn’t that a completely different label? It’s not even the same label, that’s absurd.
- It’s not like SM, where the divisions are under one company. Each label is basically a separate company, right?
- Why is it so hard to get more staff? How can one person manage everything?
And if that’s the case, there’s no point in talking about having an independent label system. - If the situation has gotten worse recently, is HYBE really in trouble? It’s funny how they make such mistakes despite the agencies being different. They said KOZ was separate, but it doesn’t seem like that at all.
- Lol, they said it’s an independent multi-label system, but it’s not?
- No matter how you look at it, this is not a label system. It’s just one big HYBE group.
- This is supposed to be a multi-label system? Lol.
This is not the first time that the HYBE system has been criticized, you can read more about it below.
