On September 11, NewJeans members delivered a warning to ADOR parent company HYBE regarding the dismissal of former ADOR CEO Min via a surprise live broadcast. After the conflict between former CEO Min and HYBE was first made public in April, this is the first time NewJeans has directly expressed its stance on the matter. Unlike the previous mention of former CEO Min, this time they directly mentioned HYBE and insisted on Min’s return to the position of Adore CEO.
There are mixed opinions about this live broadcast. Some say it is unwise for such young members to come forward and express their position, while others say they have the right to ask for better treatment as HYBE artists.
This also shows that this live broadcast has become a hot topic. Although NewJeans is currently the top girl group in the global K-pop market, it is certainly unusual for a relatively young group to directly express their stance on their company’s internal feud. The members clarified that they did the live broadcast voluntarily. The claim is that not only HYBE staff, but also ADOR staff were unaware of the plan. However, since the entire video was to criticize HYBE and praise Min in a well-prepared content, many people suspect that Min was involved.
