NCT 127 Renews Contracts with SM Entertainment Ahead of 10th Anniversary Return

According to an exclusive report from News1 on July 15, Johnny, Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun, Haechan and Jungwoo have all signed new contracts with the agency, extending a partnership that has lasted nearly a decade. The report states that each member of NCT 127 chose to continue with SM Entertainment based on their trust in both the company and each other.

Notably, members whose existing contracts had not yet expired, including those currently serving in the military, also agreed to renew their contracts early to ensure the group’s long-term stability and future activities. The collective decision is seen as another sign of the strong teamwork and unity that has characterized NCT 127 throughout their career.

NCT 127 officially debuted on July 7, 2016, as an NCT unit based in Seoul.
The group’s lineup has evolved over the years:

  • Taeyong, Yuta, Doyoung, Jaehyun and Haechan debuted with the original lineup in 2016.
  • Johnny joined the group in 2017.
  • Jungwoo became a member in 2018.

Doyoung and Jungwoo are currently doing their mandatory military service.

Over the past 10 years, NCT 127 has established their “neo” musical identity with numerous hit songs, including: Fire Truck, Cherry Bomb, Touch, Kick It, Sticker, 2 Baddies, Fact Check, Walk. To celebrate their milestone anniversary, NCT 127 will release their seventh album on August 24, marking their first studio album in more than two years. Both are expected to resume full-scale operations following their retirement in June 2027.
