i-dle’s Minnie Reveals Her Luxurious Thai Villa: ‘My Dad Was Shocked by My Korean Dorm’

On the July 11 episode of JTBC’s Getting to know the brothersi-dle members Soyeon, Minnie, Miyeon, Yuqi and Shuhua appeared as guests and shared stories from their lives.

Often nicknamed the “Thai Princess,” Minnie was asked if it was true that her parents were shocked when they first visited her dormitory during her internship days.

“It is true”, Minnie replied. “My father was especially shocked when he saw the dormitory. He kept saying, ‘My daughter? Live here? Really?'”

Yuqi quickly added that the dormitory “It actually wasn’t that bad,” but Soyeon explained, “It’s just because Minnie’s house is amazing. Her house in Thailand is basically like a castle.”

As it turns out, Minnie’s family runs a resort and she grew up in a luxurious mansion in Thailand. Explaining the difference, Minnie said: “In Thailand, living in houses is much more common than living in apartments, so I wasn’t used to apartments. Our dorm only had three bedrooms and there were so many interns living together.”

She also shared a touching story about her father’s encouragement when she moved to Korea as a sophomore in high school.

“When I came to Korea, my father told me, ‘I already paid for your senior year of high school. If things don’t work out, you can always go back to Thailand.'” Minnie recalled, highlighting the unwavering support she received from her family.

During the episode, viewers were also shown footage of Minnie’s family estate in Thailand. The expansive property features multiple living rooms on different floors, a private gym, and amenities reminiscent of a luxury resort.

Providing more details, Minnie explained, “There are three separate buildings and eight family members live there. One house belongs to my aunt, another is where my grandparents and parents live, and the third is where my brother and I stay. There is also a separate building for our housekeeper.”

Seo Jang Hoon jokingly asked: “If I ever visit Bangkok, can I stay there?” Minnie smiled and promptly replied, “Sure. We have empty rooms. My mother runs a resort, so you’re welcome.”
