Choo Young-woo criticized for embarrassingly short answers at Blue Dragon Series Awards event

Choo Young-woo attended the handprint ceremony for the 5th Blue Dragon Series Awards, held at CGV Yongsan in Seoul on July 7. The actor, who last year won the award for best new actor for the Netflix series The Trauma Code: Heroes on the Callhe returned to leave his footprints as part of the annual tradition.

During the event, host Park Kyung-lim mentioned that Choo Young-woo had posted a long message on social media after receiving the Rookie Actor award last year and asked him how he felt looking back on that moment.

Choo Young-woo replied, “I wrote something like that? Which one are you talking about?” He has repeatedly said he doesn’t remember the post, even though it was only written about a year ago. His reaction seemed to surprise not only the host but also the actors standing next to him.

Park Kyung-lim then asked Choo Young-woo what qualities set him apart, referring to his recent nickname “Door Guy” due to his tall stature.

He replied briefly: “Just being tall.” When the host asked him again about his unique charm, he added, “My monolid eyes and my dark complexion.”

His brief and seemingly unenthusiastic responses drew puzzled reactions from the audience.

For a brief moment, the atmosphere on site reportedly became noticeably awkward.
