On July 8, BBC News Korea released an interview with Kim Min Ha through its official channel. Ahead of the release of his film Korean workthe actress turned attention to her dramatic physical transformation.
“I am very satisfied with the way I look,” Kim Min Ha began. “A lot of people talk about my looks right now, but I was just losing weight for my next role. It was just something related to my job.”
He continued, “I’m always ready to change my body or my appearance depending on the character I play. My appearance is closely connected to my profession. It’s not about pursuing a standardized definition of beauty.”
“No matter when, where or how I transform my appearance, I am very satisfied with myself,” he added, sharing his honest thoughts.
Kim Min Ha went on to say: “Whatever I look like, there’s always a reason for it, and I don’t think it’s something that matters much to me. I just want to focus on my role.”
The actress recently attracted widespread attention after showing off a noticeably slimmer figure. The photos she shared on social media revealed a stunning transformation, with her previous fuller look replaced by a much slimmer physique. Her dramatic weight loss has sparked a wide range of reactions online.
Addressing the topic during the interview, Kim Min Ha explained: “I started losing weight during Typhoon familyand it took about two years. Compared to when I filmed Korean workI lost about 16-17 kilograms. It’s a huge difference.”
“It was a role that required me to lose a significant amount of weight, so I worked hard to achieve it,” he said.
Kim Min Ha will also star alongside Lee Do Hyun in the upcoming film Let’s shake our sun. It was reported that he lost weight to play a terminally ill character in the project.
