Singer Lyn shared the emotional challenges she experienced before publicly revealing her divorce, offering a candid look back during the June 28 episode of SBS’ “My Little Old Boy.”
Appearing alongside longtime friend Baek Ji Young, the singer reflected on one of the most difficult conversations of her life and how the support of those around her helped her move forward.
The topic came up after Lyn listened to Baek Ji Young talk about marriage and raising a family. Lyn said she admires the idea of starting a family, adding that getting married and having children is “really amazing.”
Baek Ji Young responded by sharing his thoughts on marriage, describing it as “the most mysterious and sacred thing.” He also admitted that keeping a marriage strong is not easy, The Chosun reported.
He told Lyn, “I think I’m doing well maintaining my marriage, but I also think it’s even harder for those who can’t keep things together and end up separating. When you told me about your divorce, I thought you must be going through something incredibly difficult.”

Lyn talks openly about her divorce to friends
Lyn then recalled the day she decided to tell Baek Ji Young about her divorce. She explained that after finishing her “Immortal Songs” program, she ran to her because she wanted her close friend to hear the news first.
However, other singers, including Yoon Jong Shin and Kim Bum Soo, were already present. She was hoping to talk to Baek Ji Young privately, but the moment quickly became public when Baek Ji Young said Lyn had something to share.
According to AllKPop, this prompted Yoon Jong Shin to joke, “If Sejin has anything to say, it’s divorce or pregnancy.”
Although the unexpected comment caught everyone’s attention, Lyn said the situation unfolded naturally.
“Everyone let that moment pass without a hitch, so just being able to say it out loud made me feel like I properly informed everyone,” he said.
She also expressed gratitude, saying that her friends were sincerely worried about her and showed their care after hearing the news.
Lyn and singer Isu announced their divorce in August 2025, ending their 11-year marriage and choosing to go their separate ways.
