Doyoung, one of the remaining members of NCT, has recently held several performances as part of his “2024 DOYOUNG CONCERT [ Dear Youth, ]” in Japan.
While performing the song “Rest”, Doyoung was visibly overcome with emotion. He burst into tears halfway through the song, finding it difficult to continue. He had to step aside for a moment before returning to complete the song.
Fans in attendance said that this wasn’t the only time Doyoung cried during the concert. He also got emotional during the final moments of the show, making the experience even more touching for fans.
The day before, Doyoung gave a heartfelt speech that caught the attention of SNS. In his message, he told NCTzens (NCT fans) that it was okay to take a break from being fans if they needed it and assured them that they were always welcome to come back when they were ready.
Doyoung’s latest concerts have deeply moved NCTzens, many of whom have expressed their support and empathy, knowing that he is going through a difficult time but is still trying to uplift his fans.
After the concerts, Doyoung shared a letter with fans via the Bubble app. In it, he apologized for the delay in sending the message and for the tears that interrupted his performance. He took time to reflect on his emotions in light of recent events: “I am truly sorry for being so late and sending this message so late to those who must have been worried about me. I don’t know how many times I have struggled to write this, writing and deleting. It took me so long because I wanted to take some time to reflect on myself. I needed to find the right time to talk to you with a clean heart. That’s why it took me so long. I am truly sorry.”

He continued, addressing the concert: “I am incredibly grateful for yesterday and today. During ‘Rest’, I couldn’t help but cry, and I feel very sorry for the Czennies who came to hear me sing, because I couldn’t perform properly at that moment..”
Doyoung reassured fans with a promise: “Regardless of everything else, I just want to say one thing. I will always sing with all my heart for you. Please don’t worry about my singing. That’s the only constant promise I can make. I will sing as much as you believe in me. Thank you so much for these past days.”
He concluded his letter by expressing hope for the future: “I believe that from tomorrow we will continue to love each other even more and spend meaningful moments together.”
