According to Sohu, Chinese singer Jane Zhang, also known as Zhang Liangying, had previously performed several songs a cappella at commercial events and solo concerts after receiving requests from the public. Although he holds the rights to the songs, they were reportedly not included in the show program submitted in advance to the relevant authorities.
As a result, the event organizer was fined by the local culture and tourism authorities. Zhang expressed regret over the situation and said he would remove the fan request segment from future commercial performances. The singer often delighted audiences by spontaneously performing songs without accompaniment, a tradition that highlighted both her strong live voice and willingness to interact with fans.
Many concertgoers expressed disappointment upon hearing the news, as the unscripted performances had become one of the most memorable parts of his concerts. However, Zhang and his team are required to follow Chinese performance management regulations.
Born in Sichuan in 1984, Jane Zhang developed an interest in singing at an early age. He later gained national recognition through the talent competition Super girlwhere she placed second at age 20.
The program helped launch her career and she eventually became one of China’s leading female singers. Zhang was also invited to appear Oprah Winfrey’s talk show and became one of the first Asian singers to hold an international tour in the United States.
