On the June 17 episode of tvN’s You Quiz on the Block, Lim Ji Yeon spoke candidly about her experience with what was supposed to be a semi-permanent eyeliner tattoo.
During the show, she explained: “When I was 20, semi-permanent makeup was extremely popular. So I got an eyeliner tattoo, but I guess it wasn’t semi-permanent, it was permanent because it never faded.” She added: “The only way to remove it was through laser treatment, but I’d heard the swelling would be severe, so I never had the courage to do it.”
However, she went on to reveal that having to constantly hide the tattoo while filming eventually became too much of a hassle, leading her to finally undergo the removal procedure.
Previously, Lim Ji Yeon appeared on Jo Hyun Ah’s Ordinary Thursday Night YouTube channel, where she openly expressed her desire to remove her eyeliner tattoo. At the time, she admitted that the result was very different from what she initially expected and said she regretted the procedure almost immediately after having it done.
He also stressed, “Once I finish filming this project, I will definitely remove it.”

Now that she has appeared publicly after the removal, netizens have responded positively. Comments included: “It feels so much softer,” “It looks beautiful without it,” and “It was a good decision to remove it.”
Meanwhile, Lim Ji Yeon recently received praise for her performance in SBS drama My Royal Nemesis, in which she plays the dual role of Joseon-era villain Kang Dan Shim and aspiring modern actress Shin Seo Ri. The series showcased her growing versatility as an actress.
My Royal Nemesis is scheduled to conclude on June 20th.
