Singer-songwriter Ejae shared behind-the-scenes photos with her boyfriend, Sam Kim, following her successful performance at the 2026 FIFA World Cup opening ceremony.
On June 17, Ejae posted several photos from the event on his social media account along with the caption: “Such an amazing experience! Mexico City, you are beautiful.” The images captured various moments from the ceremony, including her smiling backstage with world-famous tenor Andrea Bocelli and the electric atmosphere inside the stadium.
One photo in particular caught attention as it showed Ejae posing affectionately with her boyfriend, Korean-American music producer Sam Kim, on the stadium field. The couple rested their cheeks together as they took a selfie, casually embracing and sharing bright smiles.
On June 11 (local time), Ejae joined Andrea Bocelli on stage at the Mexico City Stadium during the opening ceremony of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where they performed the tournament’s official theme song, “DNA”. During the show, Ejae spoke Korean lyrics that he personally wrote, including the phrase, “Even if I fall again, I will get up again” leaving a strong impression on football fans around the world.
Ejae also attracted attention for his choice of footwear during the ceremony. Instead of wearing high heels under her elegant dress, she opted for white trainers. It was later revealed that he had chosen sneakers to minimize damage to the stadium’s grass ahead of the match scheduled immediately following the opening event, earning praise from fans both in Korea and internationally.
The singer recently gained global recognition thanks to the Netflix animated film KPop Demon Hunterswhere he provided the singing voice for the main character Rumi and participated in the composition of several songs for the soundtrack.
