Previously, videos showing Jessica walking through Shanghai Hongqiao International Airport in China while surrounded by fans quickly spread across online communities and social media platforms. During the footage, Jessica was seen suddenly covering her nose and appearing gagged as she moved through the crowd, sparking widespread speculation.
The short clip quickly became controversial, with some netizens making suggestions his reaction may have been caused by an unpleasant odor and the fact that it could have hurt the feelings of fans. Others, however, insisted it was unfair to draw conclusions from such a brief momentleading to differing opinions online.
In response, Jessica addressed the situation directly during a live broadcast, firmly denying that her reaction had anything to do with a smell.
Jessica explained that she had spoken to a fan at the airport who told her it was their birthday the day before. She recalled asking the fan’s age and being surprised to learn they were only 21.
“I was honestly shocked” Jessica shared, explaining that she suddenly found herself thinking, “They are so young – how do they know me and how did they come all the way here to see me?”

According to Jessica, her exaggerated facial expression at the time led to the misunderstanding. He clarified that the viral “gagged” moment was simply his surprised reaction and not directed at the fans or caused by anything unpleasant at the scene.
