NCT’s Haechan raises concern after revealing his unexpected body weight

NCT member Haechan is at the center of two trending online conversations after revealing his unexpected body weight and later becoming the subject of new dating rumors circulating on social media.

The concern began when Haechan casually told fans that he stepped on a scale for the first time in a while and saw a number that surprised him.

“I weighed myself this morning for the first time in a long time, and I was 58kg,” he said.

Standing at around 174cm (5’7″) tall, fans were quick to calculate that his weight places him at a BMI of around 19.2, Koreaboo reported.

Many online users expressed concern, saying the number seemed low for someone with a demanding schedule, full of rehearsals, performances and travel.

Reactions spread quickly among fan communities. One user wrote: “I never knew men could weigh 100 lbs…damn SM, feed the kids more,” reflecting the concern many fans felt for his health. Others joked about comparisons to the girls in the group or even about their own weight, turning the topic into a mix of concern and light humor.

Haechan later reassured fans that he himself was surprised by the number and said he planned to eat better and take care of his health, easing some of the immediate concerns.

Haechan dating rumors spread online

However, the attention around the idol did not stop there. Shortly thereafter, Haechan also became the center of new dating rumors that began to spread through unverified online posts and reposted screenshots. Claims suggested that he was allegedly involved with a non-celebrity, but no official confirmation was given by SM Entertainment or the artist.

According to GulfNews, speculation began after anonymous users shared alleged “evidence”, including claims of matching accessories, overlapping timetables and alleged sightings. None of the material has been verified and most come from anonymous accounts or fan reposts, a common pattern seen in celebrity rumors of the past.

As the posts spread, fan reactions were divided. Many supporters defended Haechan, urging others not to spread unverified content and to respect his privacy. Others dismissed the rumors altogether, calling them fabricated and misleading.

The situation further escalated after SM Entertainment reiterated its stance regarding legal action against individuals who spread false information, defamation and privacy violations by targeting its artists.

The company also noted that multiple offenders have faced legal consequences in previous cases.
