After eight long years, Park Jihoon finally reunited with his Malaysian fans, MAYs, and the moment turned into an unforgettable celebration of music, laughter and pure fan joy.
The South Korean singer and actor returned to Kuala Lumpur for the 2026 PARK JIHOON ASIA FANCON RE:FLECT in KUALA LUMPUR at the Plenary Hall, marking his first visit since 2018, when he last performed in the city as a member of WANNA ONE. For the fans in attendance, the evening felt less like a concert and more like a long-awaited homecoming.
From the moment he took the stage, Jihoon was greeted with deafening cheers from fans who had waited years for his return. Throughout the night, he displayed not only his powerful stage presence, but also the playful charm and warmth that continues to endear him to fans around the world.
Jihoon opened the show in a princely outfit, immediately grabbing attention as he kicked off the night with strong performances from Blank Effect, Serious and GOTCHA. He then greeted fans in Bahasa Malaysia, saying, “Gembira dapat jumpa korang semua,” which made the crowd cheer even louder.
One of the night’s highlights was the fan interaction segment, where Jihoon enthusiastically took on a series of fun challenges. The first mission saw him complete five elephant spins before striking three cute poses for the audience. Despite feeling dizzy, Jihoon completed the challenge flawlessly, even playfully leaning into his well-known charm and referencing his iconic catchphrase, “내 마음속에 저장,” much to the delight of fans.
The second challenge tested his romantic side when he was asked to write a love letter in Malay. She sweetly wrote “Saya sayang anda dan saya sayang awak” (“I love you”), immediately melting the hearts of everyone present. The third challenge brought a lot of laughter as Jihoon ate a slice of lemon before trying to maintain his cutest smile. Even though the sour reaction was impossible to completely hide, her determination to smile made the moment even funnier for fans.
To make the experience even more special, Polaroid photos were taken after each challenge and given away in a lucky draw, turning them into coveted keepsakes for fans.
Musically, Jihoon has crafted a powerful setlist that spans his solo career, performing fan favorites like NITRO, Matador, 360 and Dawn Moon. He also showcased songs from his latest album REFLECT, including Body Else, Watercolor and I Can’t Hold Your Hand Anymore, highlighting his growth and versatility as an artist.
As the night drew to a close, fans still weren’t ready to say goodbye. Jihoon returned for an encore with I Wonder, before launching into MayDay. The audience’s passionate chants filled the hall so loudly that he finally fulfilled the fans’ wishes by performing MayDay once again, turning the finale into a huge moment of singing.
Before leaving the stage, Jihoon expressed heartfelt gratitude to his Malaysian fans, thanking them for their overwhelming support and incredibly strong energy throughout the night, which he said made his comeback even more meaningful.
The evening concluded with a Hello-Bye session, where Jihoon interacted closely with fans, responding warmly to gestures, heart signals, and playful requests, leaving many attendees with lasting memories.
After eight years, Park Jihoon has proven that distance and time have not weakened his bond with Malaysian fans. As applause rang out in the Plenary Hall, one thing was clear: Fans hope it won’t be another eight years of waiting before his next return.
