Businessman Huang Youlong, Zhao Wei’s ex-husband, is facing legal action over an alleged gambling debt dating back a decade.
According to Hong Kong businesswoman Cai Yifeng, Huang Youlong borrowed A$60 million from Sun City Group to gamble in Australia about 10 years ago. As the guarantor of the loan, Cai Yifeng claims he is entitled to receive a commission in excess of A$100 million under their agreement. However, he claims that Huang Youlong still has to repay the debt.
Huang Youlong’s legal team argued in court that the loan was given directly to Sun City Group, meaning only the creditor has the right to demand repayment. They also argued that Cai Yifeng is not the real creditor. Cai Yifeng disputed this claim, saying that she, Huang Youlong and former Sun City president Alvin Chau had reached an agreement via a video call before the loan was issued.
The court also rejected Huang Youlong’s request to watch the proceedings remotely. His lawyers said he is currently in France and suffers from heart-related health problems that prevent long-distance travel. However, the judge ruled that the medical documentation provided was not sufficient and ordered Huang Youlong to appear in person at the next hearing.
The lawsuit adds to Huang Youlong’s growing financial problems. Since 2024, he has reportedly faced multiple debt demands from creditors, while he has largely disappeared from public view.

Meanwhile, Zhao Wei publicly announced the divorce in December 2024 and stressed that he had no responsibility for Huang’s financial obligations. Once considered one of China’s most powerful celebrity couples, Zhao Wei and Huang Youlong have amassed considerable wealth through investments in films, entertainment, technology, real estate and other sectors.
Zhao Wei, best known for her role as Xiao Yanzi in My Fair Princess, has kept a low profile in recent years following an industry crackdown in 2021 and subsequent disappearance from China’s major entertainment platforms.
