G-Dragon is facing criticism online after reportedly liking a social media post regarding Kim Soo-hyun’s recent official statement regarding the ongoing controversy surrounding Kim Se-ui.
The controversy began after Kim Soo-hyun’s side released a statement following the court-approved arrest warrant issued against Kim Se-ui, the head of the controversial YouTube channel Garo Sero Institute.
According to the statement, Kim Soo-hyun expressed gratitude towards the investigating authorities for uncovering the truth through objective evidence. The actor’s side also said he has spent the last year trying to prove his innocence amid accusations and controversy.
The attention intensified after online users noticed that G-Dragon had reportedly liked an Instagram post discussing Kim Soo-hyun’s statement.

Lawyer Ko Sang-rok later referenced the situation on his Threads account, further fueling the online discussion.
According to Ko Sang-rok, G-Dragon had previously helped Kim Soo-hyun emotionally during the early stages of the controversy.
The lawyer wrote:
“G-Dragon liked the post. At the beginning of the incident last year, Kim Soo-hyun revealed that he underwent meditation to regain emotional stability. I heard that G-Dragon introduced him to a meditation center for peace of mind and healing. We would like to thank everyone on behalf of the actor for believing in him and supporting him until the end.”
The revelation quickly sparked mixed reactions online.
While some fans praised G-Dragon for standing by another celebrity during a difficult time, others criticized the singer for seemingly publicly supporting Kim Soo-hyun amid the lingering public controversy.
