Recently, Seoul’s Jongno Police Station announced that it had arrested a man in his 40s on charges of assault and injury during a robbery attempt. The suspect allegedly broke into the home of actress Kim Gyu Ri, best known for the drama Glass Slippers, with the intention of stealing valuables.
The man reportedly entered the actress’ home around 9pm on May 20 and demanded money while violently attacking people inside. At the time, Kim Gyu Ri was at home with another woman. Taking advantage of a moment of distraction from the intruder, the two women managed to escape and run outside to ask for help.
CCTV footage showed that Kim Gyu Ri and the other woman did not even have time to put on their shoes. They were reportedly running barefoot in the rain as they desperately sought help from passing vehicles. A witness recalled: “They ran towards me and asked me to call the police, so I immediately reported the incident.”
The accident left both the actress and the other woman injured, suffering fractures and bruises. After receiving reports from citizens in the area, the police immediately launched an investigation. About three hours later, the suspect was arrested in Hwagok-dong, Gangseo District, Seoul. Authorities are currently investigating whether the crime was premeditated and are also considering seeking a detention warrant for the suspect.
The case has sparked great concern online, especially since another actress was targeted in a similar incident not long ago. In November last year, Nana, often called one of the most beautiful faces in the world, was also reportedly injured during a burglary.
Netizens expressed concern about Kim Gyu Ri, leaving comments like, “Wait, what’s going on? Another robbery?”, “This is terrifying…imagine how shocked she must have been,” “Why are there so many crazy people these days?”, and “The suspect deserves severe punishment.”

Born in 1979, Kim Gyu Ri debuted as a model at the age of 18. She initially promoted under her real name, Kim Min Sun, before transitioning into acting in 1998 with her first dramatic role.
She rose to fame with her role as a villain in the hit drama Glass Slippers, which became a huge sensation at the time. The actress later gained further attention through the drama Loveholic alongside HOT’s Kangta. In 2009, he officially changed his stage name to Kim Gyu Ri.
