According to an exclusive report from MyDaily on May 22, the date of the first hearing for Source Music’s damages lawsuit against Min Hee-jin was changed due to a workshop schedule involving Min Hee-jin’s legal representatives. The lawsuit, filed by Source Music against Min Hee-jin, seeks KRW 500 million (about $330,000) in damages. The hearing was originally scheduled for May 29, but has now been moved to June 12.
What makes the delay particularly noticeable is why. MyDaily reported that all three lawyers representing Min Hee-jin from Sejong Law Firm were scheduled to attend the firm’s seminar on May 29 and 30. Because of this, they were reportedly unable to appear in court on the original hearing date.
A representative for Sejong confirmed to MyDaily, “It is true that the hearing date was postponed due to a seminar.” The request to change the date was reportedly made by Sejong on May 19. The court approved the change on May 21, officially moving the hearing to June 12 at 4:45 pm in the Seoul Western District Court.
Source Music filed a lawsuit against Min Hee-jin two years ago. The company said that several statements made by Min Hee-jin during her conflict with HYBE were untrue and concerned Source Music. At the time, Source Music expressed strong regret for what it described as false statements and inappropriate comments made in public settings. The company also objected to mentioning other artists by name.

The music source stated: “We deeply regret the situation where false information and vulgar expressions were given in public by mentioning other artists by their real names, and we strongly urge that such incidents not happen again in the future.” The company also denied allegations involving LE SSERAFIM, saying that allegations that the group had caused harm to another artist were false.
Source music added, “The act of shaping public opinion by presenting false statements and false information as established facts is clearly the dissemination of false information.”
The delayed hearing is now set to become another closely watched moment in one of K-pop’s most controversial legal disputes. With the court date postponed to June 12, attention is once again on how the conflict between Min Hee-jin and Source Music will play out in court.
