Recently, two BABYMONSTER members, Ruka and Ahyeon, were photographed without permission by a Chinese fan while they were out shopping. The outing was a private activity unrelated to their work.
According to the fan, while shopping at a clothing store, they unexpectedly recognized Ahyeon and Ruka. Despite the members and their manager clearly showing discomfort and asking to be left alone, the fan continued to take photos and even proudly shared these hidden shots online as a triumph.
The fan wrote on social media, “I happened to bump into Yaxian (Ahyeon’s Chinese name) and Ruka. Who would have thought… While shopping in a clothing store, I turned around and saw a tall, thin girl with a small face who looked a lot like Yaxian. Seeing this, I called my friends, but the noise we made might have been too loud, causing Yaxian and her manager to immediately put on masks. Yes, it was indeed Yaxian, and she was there with another girl, who turned out to be Ruka. Her glasses made it easy for me to recognize her as my cute little fox. I was fascinated just by looking at her, and Ruka was very sensitive; whenever I looked at her, she would look at me. But as a fan of Bảo Quái (Chinese name for BABYMONSTER), Ruka is still my prejudice. Later, because we were so excited, we attracted the manager’s attention, and he kept staring at us, so I managed to take only two photos. He was really intimidating, like a tall and strong mountain, but he also seemed very responsible haha… His sharp eyes made me nervous, causing the photos to come out blurry.”
This fan’s act of stealing photos has sparked dissatisfaction among the fan community and observers. Many believe that invading celebrities’ privacy is unacceptable and urge fans to respect idols’ personal space, no matter the situation.
