On the 7th, Bitnara Foundation’s official account introduced the project, stating, “Bitnara Foundation’s ‘Cheongchun Mit Up’ project is a psychological counseling project planned to support the healthy artistic activities of young cultural artists.”
In the video, Kim Sodam said: “This is my first formal greeting in front of the camera. I feel like I’ve been hiding and not being able to come to the surface, but now I’m finding ways to share my inner stories, and that’s how it all started.”
He continued, “There are stories that I wanted to tell but couldn’t, stories that I struggled with alone. I think a lot of you may have similar stories, too. I think there’s a way to not go through these struggles alone and overcome them together. I hope we can create a moment where we can go out and overcome these challenges together, rather than being trapped in that moment.”
The late Jonghyun passed away on December 18, 2017, at the age of 27. He was known to have suffered from depression throughout his life.
After his passing, his mother founded the Bitnara Foundation in the fall of 2018. The foundation, based on royalties left by Jonghyun, offers scholarship programs to support young artists who are going through hard times without being part of an agency. /elnino8919@osen.co.kr
