Rumors of NewJeans’ return spark after Copenhagen studio’s booking loss

On April 26, posts began circulating in international online communities and social media, claiming that NewJeans had booked a music studio in Copenhagen, Denmark, from April 13 to 16. A calendar believed to show the studio’s schedule quickly spread online, attracting intense attention from fans.

According to the leaked calendar, the label “ADOR/LL” appeared on the same dates, leading many to believe that ADOR had booked the studio. This detail has sparked speculation that the group may have recorded new music for an upcoming release.

Around the same time, members Haerin and Hyein were reportedly spotted by fans in Copenhagen. A Chinese netizen shared his encounter, saying: “I told Hyein she was so beautiful and she kept smiling and thanking us. She even said goodbye before leaving.”

The agency later confirmed that the members had indeed traveled to Copenhagen. ADOR said on April 14 that members of NewJeans visited the city with staff. Besides Haerin and Hyein, Hanni is also said to have joined the trip.

However, ADOR refused to reveal the purpose of the visit or provide details about the program, leaving room for further speculation.

Rumors that the trip was linked to a return had already begun to circulate at that time, but the newly emerged studio’s booking calendar reignited those theories with even greater intensity.

Activity on NewJeans’ official channels also fueled anticipation. On April 21, the group’s official social media account posted birthday messages and new photos for Hyein. The images, which appeared to have been taken on a film set, mark the first update in around six months since the account was silenced following the dispute between members and the agency.

Fans have welcomed the update, with many expressing excitement at seeing the group again and suggesting that overseas filming and studio work could signal the start of a full-scale comeback.

Previously, in November 2024, all five members parted ways with ADOR. However, Haerin, Hyein and Hanni later ended their contract disputes and returned to the agency. Danielle did not reunite, while Minji is reportedly still in discussion.

Meanwhile, ADOR filed a lawsuit worth around KRW 43 billion against Danielle and former CEO Min Hee Jin after negotiations broke down.
