On April 22, the production team of tvN’s upcoming drama My Spooky Romance announced that Ong Seong Wu will take on the role of Kang Min Hwan, a character not present in the original film version.
My Spooky Romance is an occult romantic drama that follows the story of Cheon Yeo Ri (played by Park Eun Bin), a rich heiress who can see ghosts, and Ma Kang Wook (played by Yang Se Jong), a prosecutor who is terrified of her. The series is based on the 2011 film Spellbound (directed by Hwang In Ho).
In the drama, Ong Seong Wu’s character Kang Min Hwan is the CEO of CL Raymond Hotel and the heir to the CL Group. He is portrayed as someone who has it all: intelligence, good looks, impeccable manners, and exceptional abilities. Although he seems like a cold and calculated businessman on the outside, he reveals a surprisingly warm and caring side exclusively towards Cheon Yeo Ri.
Ong Seong Wu is expected to demonstrate the acting skills he has developed through projects such as Strong Girl Nam Soon and Boyfriend on Demand in this new role. Anticipation is high for how he will portray the contrasting traits and hidden layers of the character.
The production team shared, “Kang Min Hwan is a character who adds tension between Cheon Yeo Ri and Ma Kang Wook. We hope viewers look forward to Ong Seong Wu’s transformation as he brings his unique color to the role.”
