A heartwarming story has captured the public’s attention as a citizen struggling with high living costs and family debt experienced a life-changing turning point after dreaming of “the nation’s MC” Yoo Jae Suk. On April 19, lottery operator Donghaeng Lottery revealed the story of Mr. A, who won the top prize in the 104th round of Spito 1000, taking home a prize of KRW 500 million.
Mr. A’s stroke of luck began with a vivid dream. In an interview, he shared, “I dreamed that I was being dragged away in the dirty water and Yoo Jae Suk saved me.” He continued, “I had a strong feeling that it was a good omen, so I immediately bought a lottery ticket and, to my surprise, I saw the message that I had won the grand prize.” After confirming the victory, he celebrated with his daughter-in-law, saying: “Looks like heaven helped me.”
This isn’t the first time a dream involving Yoo Jae Suk has been linked to the lottery jackpot. In July 2023, another story went viral when a child dreamed of Yoo Jae Suk and the family subsequently won the grand prize. Many interpret this as a reflection of how the beloved television character, widely seen as a symbol of trust and sincerity, has become a figure of hope even in people’s subconscious.
As well as being a simple stroke of luck, the prize money is expected to serve as a lifeline for Mr A’s struggling family. He revealed plans to use the winnings to pay off loans and cover moving expenses, offering a fresh start after a difficult period.
