Actor Ryu Jun Yeol will take on the lead role in the upcoming Netflix series Hinterland.
According to reports on April 13, Ryu Jun Yeol will play the lead role Hinterlandmarking another major project in its expanding global portfolio.
Hinterland is based on the mystery thriller webtoon G’day, originally serialized in Lezhin Comics. The story follows Shion, who travels to Australia in search of her missing older sister, and Hans, a mysterious man whose presence adds layers of intrigue to the narrative.
In the series, Ryu Jun Yeol will play Hans, the central character who drives the story forward. In the original webtoon, Hans is depicted as an evil figure, sparking curiosity about how the character will be reinterpreted in the drama adaptation.

Ryu Jun Yeol will also return to the small screen later this year with another Netflix series, Mousetrap. With Hinterland added to his lineup, the actor continues his string of high-profile projects, solidifying his presence on the global streaming platform.
In the meantime, Hinterland will be produced by Shot Cake, with director Jeon Doo Kwan at the helm.
