Hani’s boyfriend, psychiatrist Yang Jae Woong, is once again under public scrutiny following the official closure of his medical facility, W Jin Hospital.
According to the Public Health Center of Bucheon City, Gyeonggi Province, W Jin Hospital filed for permanent closure on April 1, 2026, with the decision confirmed on April 12.
The hospital, founded in 2010, specializes in the treatment of mental health and alcohol addiction, operating with 169 beds. Attempts to contact the facility after closing reportedly resulted in phone lines being disconnected, signaling a complete halt in operations.
The closure follows a tragic incident in September 2023, when a woman in her 30s died after 17 days in hospital. The reported cause was acute intestinal pseudo-obstruction, although the circumstances surrounding its treatment caused widespread concern.
Authorities launched an investigation, during which the hospital submitted medical records and CCTV footage. However, the situation worsened when the attending doctor was arrested on charges of professional negligence resulting in death.
As a result, the hospital faced a three-month suspension earlier this year, remaining closed from January to March before ceasing operations entirely.

The controversy also affected Yang Jae Woong’s personal life. His relationship with Hani, a member of EXID, has been the subject of intense public attention.
Following the incident, the couple reportedly postponed their wedding, and neither party has since provided an update on their current status.
While the hospital closure marks a significant development, questions remain about responsibility and the broader implications of the case.
