BTS rules a dark dystopian world in the ferocious new music video “Hooligan.”

BTS unleash a dark, dystopian new era in ferocious music video for “Hooligan,” the latest visual from their 2026 album ARIRANG.

Released on April 7 local time via HYBE LABELS’ official channels, the “Hooligan” video sees RM, Jin, SUGA, j-hope, Jimin, V and Jung Kook rule a crumbling world marked by menacing skies, towering structures and overwhelming crowds.

The track, produced by El Guincho, Fakeguido, Jasper Harris and Ghstloop, appears on ARIRANGBTS’ tenth studio album, arriving on March 20, 2026, under BIGHIT MUSIC. “Hooligan” has already gained traction on streaming platforms and the charts, including an appearance in the top 40 of the US Billboard Hot 100.

According to People, the music video’s narrative places BTS at the center of a dystopian power structure, with the members performing on a striking red platform in front of a palace-like backdrop while masked dancers move in formation around them.

Subsequent scenes show the group walking through a bleak passage while civilians float above them, adding a surreal and disturbing layer to the story.

Korean newspaper OSEN, citing international coverage, noted that the image creates a “dreamlike yet destructive” atmosphere that highlights the group’s commanding stage presence, Se7en reported.

Lyrically, “Hooligan” matches the intense imagery, with RM rapping, “Watch this, watch this beat go hooligan / Let’s take a leap, we’re acting stupid again,” a chorus that highlights the song’s themes of rebellion and confidence.

Critics described the track as “glitchy and infectious”, praising BTS’s ability to adapt to metallic and experimental production while maintaining their pop appeal. Early reviews also point to “Hooligan” as one of the standout songs ARIRANG for its bold sound and visual ambition.

ARIRANG marks BTS’ first full comeback in approximately four years, following the completion of all members’ mandatory military service, making each new release from the project highly anticipated among fans.

With “Hooligan,” the group expands the album’s visual world after previous videos like “SWIM” and “2.0,” solidifying this era as defined by large-scale cinematic storytelling and a darker concept.

As the “Hooligan” video continues to accumulate views, BTS is expected to carry these powerful images into upcoming promotions and their planned global tour through 2027, according to Chosun.
