The K-pop scene is heating up this April as major entertainment companies launch a series of boy group comebacks. Representatives of JYP Entertainment, HYBE and SM Entertainment are preparing for a high-stakes clash, each bringing distinct styles and concepts to the table.
From JYP Entertainment, KickFlip, Xdinary Heroes and NEXZ will return. KickFlip will release their fourth mini album “My First Kick” on April 6, marking their comeback after seven months. The title track “Eye-Poppin'” was co-written and composed by leader Kyehoon, showcasing the group’s playful and energetic charm. Centering on themes such as “spring in your twenties” and “first love,” the album features seven tracks with all members contributing the credits, further solidifying their musical identity. They will kick off promotions with a return show on Mnet M2 and a release day presentation.

Next, Xdinary Heroes will release their eighth mini album “DEAD AND” along with the title track “Voyager” on April 17th. Once again, all members participated in the songwriting process, reinforcing their reputation as “music heroes.” The album includes seven tracks, including the pre-release song “X room”. With surprising teaser content and a chilling concept, the band is building anticipation ahead of their comeback show.
NEXZ will also return on April 27, about six months after their third mini album “Beat-Boxer” released last October. The group has reportedly completed filming their music video, raising expectations for their next release.

From HYBE, TXT and TWS step up following BTS. TXT will release their eighth mini album “7TH YEAR: A Moment of Stillness in the Thorns” on April 13th. The album captures the emotions and narratives of the group as they enter their seventh year since their debut and has added significance as their first release after renewing their contracts with BigHit Music. Through conceptual photos titled “THORN,” “HUNGER,” and “TENSION,” the group suggests a deeper exploration of relationships and inner emotions within their signature narrative universe.

TWS will return on April 27th with their fifth mini album “NO TRAGEDY”. Known for their self-described “boyhood pop” genre, the group continues to represent youth and emotional growth. This time, they aim to tell a story of defying predetermined fate and completing love on their own terms. Riding the momentum of their previous popularity, boosted by the viral “Angtal Challenge,” they are expected to further establish themselves as trend leaders in K-pop.

Meanwhile, SM Entertainment will release NCT WISH, who will release their first album “Ode to Love” on April 20th. With 10 tracks including the song of the same name, the album expands their “dream” universe while showcasing a broader musical spectrum. The film’s trailer, full of fairy-tale images that oscillate between dreams and nightmares, has already captured attention and suggests a more mature side of the members.
With back-to-back returns from rookie groups and global stars, April is shaping up to be one of the most competitive months in K-pop this year. As each group carries its own identity and narrative, all eyes are on who will ultimately dominate the charts and win over fans around the world.
