Tablo shares the parental secret behind daughter Haru’s fluent English skills

On March 31, a new video titled “Friendship? Love? Parenting? Life Advice Available” was uploaded to Tablo’s YouTube channel. In the video, he spent time listening to subscribers’ concerns and offering thoughtful advice on life and relationships.

One subscriber shared that she was in a serious relationship with her British boyfriend and was thinking about marriage and kids when she turned 30. He asked how to raise a bilingual child like Haru. Another viewer expressed curiosity about Tablo’s close relationship with his daughter, noting how they seem more like best friends than just father and son.

Answering questions, Tablo began by addressing language education. She explained that if one parent speaks fluent English and the other speaks Korean, becoming bilingual is not difficult for a child. However, he stressed the importance of maintaining balance between the two languages.

He revealed that his wife constantly speaks Korean to Haru, while he only communicates with her in English. He recalled a past moment from the show “The Return of Superman” when Haru told him not to speak English because he couldn’t understand it at the time.

Tablo admitted that he started language education relatively late. “I waited until Haru opened his heart,” she said, adding that once she felt comfortable, her language skills improved quickly, just like many children. She advised parents to divide roles naturally and communicate consistently with their children in each language.

The artist also spoke about his relationship with Haru. “We’re not just friends, we’re friends,” he said. “I happen to be her father. She actually sees me as a friend.”

He shared that Haru sometimes prefers spending time with him rather than playing with his peers. “On weekends she tells me it’s more fun to hang out with dad,” she added, expressing deep affection for her daughter.

Tablo concluded by reflecting on fatherhood. “I never imagined I would become a father. But once I did, I instinctively knew when Haru needed me,” he said, underscoring the emotional bond they share.
