On March 30, a video premiered titled “Suhyun and Chan-hyuk’s Long Crisis Who Couldn’t Give Up His Sister AKMU’s Story That Finally Helped Them Blossom Together!” was released on You Quiz on the Block’s channel.
In the video, Lee Suhyun spoke candidly about her darkest days, saying, “I actually lived a long time without seeing the sunlight,” recalling the time when she was trapped in a major crisis. Her brother, Lee Chan-hyuk, added: “To the whole family, it seemed like she was struggling, but she didn’t realize it herself.”
During an interview with the production team, Lee Suhyun revealed even more shocking details. “I started isolating myself in my room and living like a hikikomori. All I did was play and eat food delivery. I kept the curtains closed because I didn’t want to know if it was day or night,” he confessed.
She continued, “I binge-ate every single day, without exception. When you gain weight quickly, it feels like your whole body is tearing itself apart. I thought there was no better future for me,” sharing the physical and emotional pain she endured.
Lee Chan-hyuk also expressed his fears during that time. “I felt like Suhyun was no longer in front of me. I was afraid that if things became irreversible, I would regret it deeply,” he said, revealing how worried he was for his sister.
Living together with his brother for more than a year, Lee Suhyun shared a lighter moment, saying, “He keeps knocking on my door asking, ‘Did you do cardio today? Did you run on the treadmill? Why didn’t you send the photo of your meal?’ He never stops talking, I only see his mouth,” making people laugh with his sincere observation.
