BLACKPINK’s Jisoo shares her personal advice on burnout: ‘Move on from what you love’

On March 27, a video titled “Career vs. Love? What Would Jisoo Choose? #Let’s Hear It” was uploaded to Harper’s Bazaar Korea’s YouTube channel.

In the video, Jisoo took time to address fans’ concerns. When asked, “What should I do when I’m afraid of losing my current salary or the one I have now?” offered thoughtful advice: “It’s natural to be afraid. But if you fear change, I don’t think you can move to a higher level. Instead of worrying about losing what you have, it’s better to learn to quickly change your mindset if that happens. You can also try to think that something better is coming and embrace it with a positive attitude.”

He added, “When I’m scared, I usually sleep. If I start thinking too much, I go to sleep. When I wake up, my thoughts become simpler and that helps me deal with things more calmly.”

Jisoo also shared her approach to dealing with burnout. He explained, “Since it’s not always possible to change your work situation, I think it’s important to find hobbies or ways to relieve stress. I like to eat, sleep and watch cartoons. I have a lot of simple things that I like, so I tend to recover quickly. If you find a lot of things that you like, when exhaustion sets in, you can switch between them and time passes faster. Thinking ‘I’ll finish my work quickly and go eat something delicious’ helps me get through it.”

Meanwhile, Jisoo recently bid farewell to fans through the Netflix drama “Boyfriend upon request.” The romantic comedy follows Mi Rae, a webtoon producer exhausted by real life, who fulfills her romantic fantasies through a virtual dating simulation.
