After getting married and giving birth in 2022, actress Park Shin Hye took a short break before returning to the screen. His return has proven to be a notable success, with back-to-back hits including Doctor Slump, The Judge from Hell and now Undercover Miss Hong.
The latest drama saw peak viewership of 13.1% and ranked fifth in a Gallup Korea survey of most-watched programs, reaffirming her reputation as a “trusted actress” among viewers. Sharing her thoughts after the drama’s finale, Park Shin Hye said, “I am very happy that ‘Undercover Miss Hong’ ended successfully and with so much love. Since I have been continuously working on projects, I plan to take some time to rest both physically and mentally.”
Expanding range in its 30 years
Reflecting on her career path, the actress noted that her approach to choosing projects has naturally changed over time. “When I was in my twenties, I chose roles that suited my age at the time. Now, I think I come across projects that fit who I am today,” she explained.
Rather than a specific turning point, Park Shin Hye emphasized that growth happened organically with age and experience. He also expressed gratitude for working with famous writers early in his career, which helped lay his foundation in acting.
Now in her 30s, Park Shin Hye says the variety of roles she is offered has significantly increased. “When I turned 30, the diversity of projects expanded. My image changed, as did the range of roles I can take on,” she shared.

Given the strong viewer interest in Undercover Miss Hong, discussions about a potential second season have already begun. Park Shin Hye expressed gratitude for the enthusiasm and also shared her ideas for future developments. “Given that the ending involved going undercover at an insurance company, it might be interesting to explore how Geumbo fits in among strong female colleagues or returns to the Financial Supervision Service,” he said.
