A shocking real-life story involving a Korean actor, identified only as “B”, has attracted widespread attention after allegations emerged that he deceived a woman into an affair by hiding the fact that he was already married.
The case was revealed on JTBC’s March 17 broadcast Case leaderin which a woman in her thirties, named A, shared her experience of dating and living with the actor under the assumption that they intended to get married.
Relationship built on lies
According to A, he first met B after seeing a theater performance. The two quickly developed a romantic relationship, with B presenting himself as a struggling actor determined to succeed without his parents’ support. “He said he was living in a rehearsal room because his parents were opposed to his acting career and that he wanted to make it on his own,” Explained.
Moved by his determination, A introduced B to his parents. He reportedly told them he was serious about marriage, earning their trust and effectively being treated as a future son-in-law. The couple soon began living together.
A’s parents also supported B financially, sending catering and coffee trucks to his theater and covering expenses when the couple faced financial difficulties.
The hidden truth comes to light
Despite the serious nature of their relationship, B repeatedly avoided introducing A to his own family, arguing that they should wait until he achieved success. Eventually, A discovered that B had already been married. When questioned, he allegedly admitted doing so, but insisted that he was already divorced and was simply waiting for the right time to tell her.
Although angry, A gave him another chance after tearfully apologizing. However, the truth turned out to be even more shocking. Through an acquaintance, A located a restaurant run by B’s parents and went to visit them, only to find that B was not divorced at all but still legally married and simply separated from his wife. “His wife also came to visit us during the last holidays,” his parents would reveal, expressing confusion about the situation.
Financial and emotional damage
The revelation left A and his family devastated. Over time, his parents had provided B with tens of millions of won believing he was a reliable partner.
Legal experts speaking on the program said the situation could potentially qualify as fraud. Lawyer Park Ji Hoon noted that “there are reasons to suspect fraud, as he may have obtained financial benefits through deception.”

Another lawyer, Shin Yoo Jin, added that A could seek both emotional damage compensation and financial compensation, especially if the flow of money provided by his parents can be clearly demonstrated.
The case sparked discussions among viewers about trust, deception and the vulnerability of individuals in romantic relationships, especially when financial support is involved. While the actor’s identity has not been revealed publicly, the controversy continues to gain traction online, with many calling for accountability and legal action if the allegations are confirmed.
