Nicknamed a “newbie monster” in K-pop, BABYMONSTER has quickly become one of the leading names of the fifth generation of K-pop. However, a key member has recently been missing from the group’s lineup. For almost a year, lead singer Rami has been absent from both the major and minor stages, leaving fans disappointed and fueling speculation about the idol’s future.
Specifically, Rami officially suspended all entertainment activities in May 2025. The singer had to withdraw from BABYMONSTER’s Asian tour last year. According to an official announcement from YG Entertainment, the decision was made due to serious and ongoing health issues.
Rami’s prolonged absence forced BABYMONSTER to promote themselves as a six-member group during that period. He missed several major projects and events of the group, including the release of the music video for the song Spicy sauce in June 2025 promotions for the group’s second mini album LET’S GO UPas well as multiple tour stops and major year-end music awards ceremonies.
During her hiatus, updates on the singer have been extremely limited. In October 2025, colleague Pharita reassured fans that Rami’s health was gradually improving. Then, in December 2025, fans got excited after spotting what appeared to be a hint of Rami’s return in the final scene of the music video. Supa Dupa Luv.

However, in February 2026, YG Entertainment once again caused confusion among fans by releasing new promotional content featuring only six members, while remaining silent on the timeline of Rami’s return. The agency’s lack of clarification quickly reignited rumors that the idol could easily leave the group.
Recently, Rami was reportedly spotted by fans in the US state of Kentucky. The rare sighting of the singer after nearly a year away from the public eye immediately attracted attention. In particular, she was seen happily signing autographs for fans and clearly writing her name as “BABYMONSTER BRANCHES”, which many interpreted as a subtle way to dismiss rumors that she had been removed from the group.

Some observers believe her trip to the United States may simply be part of her recovery process, giving her time to rest and relax after a long period of treatment.
Rami’s absence is considered a significant loss for BABYMONSTER, as he possesses all-round abilities and plays an important role in the group. Within the lineup, he holds the role of lead singer and is often responsible for the technically demanding parts of the songs, including complex numbers, fluid R&B-style phrasing and explosive high notes.

Her voice is known for its warm, rich tone that becomes bright and powerful in the higher registers. With a distinct soul and R&B color rare among K-pop idols of his age, Rami has played an important role in shaping BABYMONSTER’s global musical identity. Its Western-influenced vocal style helped the group more easily attract international audiences.
In addition to her vocal talent, Rami is also recognized for her keen dance skills. Its images are another strong point. Approximately 172 cm tall and with model proportions, she has always stood out within the group. From the moment she was first introduced under her real name Haram to her debut under the stage name Rami, fans have seen her visuals mature and become more and more stunning.

Looking ahead to 2026, YG Entertainment has announced that BABYMONSTER will return with a new mini album titled CHOOMwhose release is scheduled for May. The group is also expected to launch its second world tour in June, followed by a second album expected in October.
However, despite the group’s busy schedule for 2026, YG Entertainment has remained completely silent on Rami’s condition and possible return. As a result, whether fans will soon see the talented lead singer back under the stage lights remains an unanswered question.
