Jisoo reveals Seo In-guk is her ‘diet rival’ while filming Netflix’s ‘Boyfriend on Demand’

On March 5, the YouTube channel “Netflix Korea” uploaded a video titled “Rabbit-faced and fox-faced superstar with a love-hate story | We came to promote Boyfriend on request“. The video featured Jisoo and Seo In-guk, who appear together in the drama “Boyfriend on request”chatting about their experiences filming the series.

During the conversation, the host mentioned that he heard that Seo In-guk had been rewarding himself with delicious food lately because the winter filming had been exhausting. However, Jisoo quickly corrected the statement, saying that her co-star had actually been fasting and focusing on her diet.

Jisoo explained that Seo In-guk initially set a goal of losing around 4 kilograms. But when he recently said he had already lost 3 kilograms, she realized he had quietly lost another one since they last spoke. Laughing, Jisoo said this made her feel competitive because she also needed to lose weight.

“I thought: ‘Has he already lost another kilogram? He’s not an easy opponent'” he joked, calling it personal “diet rival”.

Seo In-guk responded by revealing that their friendly competition became evident during filming. She said that every time she gained weight, Jisoo seemed more relaxed, but every time she lost weight, she felt a sense of urgency. Jisoo agreed with the observation, admitting that it made her feel anxious to keep up.

The actor also shared a new hobby he developed while on the diet. According to him, he recently became interested in watching “muk bang” video content where hosts eat large quantities of food in front of the camera. Although he was initially worried that it might make dieting more difficult, he found that it actually helped him feel satisfied indirectly.

Seo In-guk added that he doesn’t watch the quieter ASMR-style food videos but prefers the more energetic ones mukbang content where the creators eat aggressively and enthusiastically.

Jisoo revealed that she has a slightly different reaction when watching the same type of videos. Instead of feeling satisfied, she said the content sometimes arouses a competitive feeling in her. As he watches people eat large portions, he jokes to himself: “I could eat that much too.”

The lighthearted conversation gave fans a glimpse into the playful dynamic between the two stars as they promoted their upcoming project.

Netflix’s romantic comedy Boyfriend on request follows the story of a webtoon producer named Mi-rae who, exhausted by real life, turns to a virtual dating simulation, where she can sign up and experience love in a fantasy setting.

Starring Jisoo and Seo In-guk, the drama is set to premiere on March 6 on Netflix.
