According to a February 24 report from The Fact, Taemin recently terminated his contract with the agency. Although the agreement had not expired, Taemin reportedly forcefully requested termination of the contract and both parties reached a mutual agreement without escalating the matter into a legal dispute.

Industry experts say the split was triggered by serious trust issues. Allegations of unpaid compensation worth tens of billions of won had already emerged, raising concerns about financial transparency. Besides that, reports suggest that the agency entered into an external contract without Taemin’s consent, which would become the deciding factor in the breach of trust.
Under these circumstances, CEO Cha Ga Won was reportedly left with no choice but to accept Taemin’s dismissal request.
Taemin joined Big Planet Made in March 2024 after ending his 16-year contract with SM Entertainment on March 16. His move marked a new chapter in his career after spending over a decade and a half under MS. However, less than two years later, he once again finds himself at a crossroads.

Big Planet Made Entertainment has become a subsidiary of One Hundred Label, founded in December 2023 by Cha Ga Won and MC Mong. Amid corporate restructuring and ongoing operational disputes, Taemin ultimately decided to end the partnership.

Despite the seriousness of the allegations, both parties reportedly resolved the matter amicably without pursuing legal conflicts. As of now, Taemin has not announced his next agency or management plans, leaving fans to closely follow updates on his future moves.
