On February 16, Choi Jun Hee shared a long post along with photos, writings, “I’m getting married!” In his heartfelt message, he reflected on his personal journey. “Family has never been an easy word for me. After a childhood full of sadness, I promised myself that one day I would build a warm pen of my own,” he wrote. “Now, not as someone’s daughter but as a wife and as someone starting a new family of my own, I want to live a stronger, warmer life.”
She will marry a non-famous employee 11 years her senior on May 16 at a hotel in Gangnam, Seoul. Emphasizing privacy, he added, “My fiancé is a private individual, so I ask people to refrain from unverified stories or speculation. This is precious daily life for both of us.”
However, controversy arose over the wedding photos she posted. Small statues resembling Buddhist figures, perhaps Ksitigarbha, were lined up in the background of the images, each adorned with flowers or decorative elements.
Some netizens said the arrangement resembled spaces commonly seen in Japanese temples dedicated to “Mizuko Kuyo,” a memorial ritual for aborted or stillborn children, where similar statues are arranged in rows. The similarity has led to speculation and debate online.

That said, based solely on the photos, it is difficult to determine with certainty whether the location is connected to the practices of Mizuko Kuyo or whether it is simply a generic temple space with statues of Ksitigarbha. No official clarification has been provided regarding the exact meaning of the site.

Born in 2003, Choi Jun Hee is the daughter of the late actress Choi Jin Sil and the late professional baseball player Cho Sung-min. Choi Jin Sil and Cho Sung-min married in 2000 and divorced in 2004, raising two sons, Hwan Hee and Jun Hee. Choi Jin Sil died in 2008, followed by her younger brother Choi Jin-young in 2010. Cho Sung-min also died in 2013.

Choi Jun Hee has since built her presence as an influencer, communicating with the public primarily through social media. Last August, she revealed that she and her older brother, singer Choi Hwan Hee (also known as Ben Bliss), had introduced their respective partners to broadcaster Hong Jin-kyung, even joking that they had received his “approval”.
As Choi Jun Hee prepares for her wedding, public interest remains high, not only for her new beginning but also for any symbolic meaning behind her choice of location for the photo shoot.
