Details for the highly anticipated MelOn Music Awards (MMA) have been announced. Korean news outlets have reported the date, location, and theme of the annual awards show.
On September 4, Star News published a report announcing the details for the 16th MelOn Music Awards, also known as MMA 2024. The awards ceremony will reportedly be held on November 30 at INSPIRE Arena, Yeongjongdo, Incheon.
The event’s slogan would be the concept of “New Stream of K-pop”, which contemplates MelOn’s goal of catching up with the new K-pop trends. MelOn’s award ceremony also plans to gather K-pop fans around the world and usher in a new era of music as one of South Korea’s major music platforms.

INSPIRE Arena is also Korea’s first indoor multi-purpose performance space, with 15,000 seats and a world-class sound system that amplifies every spectator’s experience during the most exciting shows.
Star News also reported that MelOn would also be holding pre-promotions with gifts for K-pop fans, including tickets for MMA 2024. Voting for the Top 10 and many other categories would also be held. The main announcements and events would be posted on the official page of MMA 2024 in Melon.

Kakao Entertainment CEO Jang Yoon Joong also shared a brief statement regarding the upcoming awards ceremony. The CEO mentioned MelOn’s legacy in the Korean music industry for over two decades and that the artists’ achievements and the future of K-pop would both be highlighted at MMA 2024.
“For the past 20 years, MelOn has led the Korean music industry as the ‘base’ of K-pop, which also led to the creation of the current global K-pop craze.
Through the MelOn Music Awards 2024, we would like to honor the extraordinary achievements of this year’s artists together with fans, while also showcasing the new vision and future of K-pop. We look forward to it.”
