BLACKPINK member Jennie has confirmed a collaboration with Australian psychedelic music project Tame Impala on a remix of the song “Dracula.”
Kevin Parker, the creative force behind Tame Impala, shared a teaser of the remix on February 3, revealing that the full version will be released on Friday, February 6. Jennie’s indie label, Odd Atelier, reshared Parker’s announcement on social media along with a pre-save link for fans. The official confirmation comes after days of speculation from fans led by mysterious clues on social platforms.
Earlier this week, the description of the “Dracula” music video on YouTube was slightly changed. A line that originally read “My friends are saying ‘shut up, Kevin, get in the car'” was changed to replace Parker’s name with Jennie’s. This specific change sparked widespread discussion among fans of both artists, according to allkpop.
Additionally, Jennie had posted multiple Instagram Stories featuring “Dracula” in the days leading up to the announcement, which many interpreted as an intentional tease of the partnership.
The collaboration represents Jennie’s latest high-profile Western musical partnership. He previously worked with Grammy-winning rapper Doechii on the track “ExtraL,” released on February 21, 2025, from his debut solo album “Ruby.” That music video has amassed over 114 million views on YouTube since its release.
“Dracula” itself became a significant commercial success for Tame Impala. Released on September 26 as the third single from Parker’s fifth studio album “Deadbeat”, the song marked the project’s breakthrough on the major charts. It debuted at number 55 on the Billboard Hot 100, becoming Tame Impala’s first appearance on the chart. KpopAngel reported.
During the tracking period of January 25 to 31, the song reached number one on alternative radio’s Mediabase airplay chart, accumulating approximately 2,266 spins. The song also landed at number three on Triple J’s Hottest 100 chart for 2025 and received a nomination for the Audience Choice Award at the Australian Music Awards.
Co-written by Parker and Sarah Aarons, “Dracula” blends dance-focused beats with psychedelic production elements, presenting a vampire-themed narrative focused on avoiding sunlight and celebrating nightlife.
The song’s music video was filmed in Western Australia and drew inspiration from the region’s rave and bush doof cultures which influenced the “Deadbeat” album.
Jennie is currently touring worldwide with BLACKPINK for their “DEADLINE” world tour. The group’s third mini-album “DEADLINE” is scheduled to be released on February 27, as scheduled Forbes.
