Former Chinese actress Zheng Shuang has returned to the center of public debate after new reports shed light on her current life in the United States. On February 1, Chinese newspaper Sohu revealed that passers-by recently spotted Zheng Shuang on the street with her father and two children, whom she shares with ex-boyfriend Zhang Heng. His latest appearance reportedly left many shocked.
According to eyewitness accounts circulating online, Zheng Shuang now appears noticeably thinner and worn, with thinning hair and visible gray strands. Photos said to have been taken during the sighting show the once-popular actress looking pale, tired and a far cry from the glamorous image she maintained during her peak years in the Chinese entertainment industry.
This isn’t the first time her appearance in showbiz has attracted attention. Since leaving the industry and moving to the United States, Zheng Shuang’s unfiltered look has repeatedly sparked debate online. Online rumors also claim that Zheng Shuang gave birth to a child with Ye Yanwei late last year, although this has not been officially confirmed.
According to 163, Ye Yanwei is listed as a wanted economic crime suspect in China and would risk immediate arrest if he returned to the country. Reports say that Zheng Shuang got involved with him in 2024 after facing serious financial difficulties. She is said to be burdened with debts exceeding 200 million yuan, allegedly forcing her into a vulnerable situation while living abroad.
