On January 27, lawyer Kim Sun-woong of the law firm representing Min Hee-jin confirmed that a press conference regarding the so-called ‘New Jeans tampering’ arraignments will take place on January 28. The event aims to clarify the facts regarding the multiple lawsuits currently underway between ADOR, Min Hee-jin and members of New Jeans.
According to Kim, the press conference will be held in response to ADOR’s damages lawsuit against Min Hee-jin, as well as contract termination and compensation claims involving some New Jeans members. He stated that the purpose of the briefing is “to convey the truth behind the so-called ‘New Jeans tampering’ accusations.” Despite the high-profile nature of the controversy, Min Hee-jin herself is not expected to attend the press conference in person.
New Jeans have been involved in legal disputes with ADOR since November 2024, when the group notified the agency of their intention to terminate their exclusivity contracts. However, the situation changed after ADOR won a case confirming the validity of the contracts.
Following the ruling, members Haerin, Hyein and Hanni returned to ADOR. Minji is reportedly still in discussions regarding her return, while Danielle was informed by ADOR of the termination of her exclusive contract after the agency determined that continued collaboration was no longer feasible.
Additionally, ADOR filed a lawsuit for 431 billion won (about $320 million) in damages against Danielle, a family member, and Min Hee-jin. Danielle has since appointed legal counsel to respond to the claims.
