On January 20th a video entitled “Undercover Miss Hong X Go Kyung-pyo and Fin-de-Siècle Sensibility Live” was uploaded to Na Young-seok PD’s YouTube channel, Channel Fullmoon. During the conversation with co-star Park Shin-hye, Go Kyung-pyo talked about his absence from the official presentation of the drama’s production.
He explained, “I couldn’t attend the press conference. Early that morning I suddenly fell ill with acute gastritis and enteritis at the same time.” Slightly joking, he added that he would avoid graphic details for viewers watching during meals, but revealed he was severely dehydrated.
Go Kyung-pyo went on to say that he was taken to the hospital by ambulance for the first time in his life. “I was completely exhausted and had intense abdominal pain and bloating. I think there was a lot of inflammation building up in my body,” he recalled. Although he now speaks about the incident with humor, he admitted that the situation was extremely serious at the time, adding that he usually does not cancel plans due to illness but could not physically be present that day.
Previously, Go Kyung-pyo was expected to participate Miss Hong undercover press conference held on 12 January but absent for health reasons. His agency, CL&Company, said at the time that he had sought medical attention early that morning and was resting after his symptoms improved. The event continued in the presence of Park Shin-hye and other cast members.

Meanwhile, Go Kyung-pyo recently attracted attention for revealing an extreme “three day fast” diet method in a YouTube show, sparking speculation that his intense efforts to lose weight may have affected his health. Known for his dramatic physical transformations between roles, the actor has often been cited as a celebrity whose appearance changes dramatically before and after projects.
