Actress Park Shin Hye gave an emotional confession while talking about her family on the January 21 episode of tvN’s Take the block quizbringing viewers to tears with his heartfelt honesty.




During the broadcast, host Yoo Jae Suk praised Park Shin Hye’s surprisingly impressive meat grilling skills, recalling their previous meeting on Sixth sense. He joked, “After eating the meat she grilled, I told people in the entertainment industry to never let anyone grab the tongs. If Park Shin Hye is there, the grill belongs to her.” He added that he had never seen anyone grill meat so perfectly.
Park Shin Hye shared that after the episode aired, she received countless messages saying: “Let’s go eat meat together.” Yoo Jae Suk kept complimenting her, calling out her skills “professional level”.

He recently starred in Miss Hong undercoverwhere she plays a character who disguises herself as a twenty-year-old while working undercover, Park Shin Hye laughed at the challenges of perception. “Because I debuted so young, many people still remember what I looked like in my twenties. I’m afraid that comparison photos may start to circulate,” he said. He also added that within the drama, similar lines “Do you look old?” are often mentioned.
On set, Park Shin Hye is affectionately called “Teachers’ Park”. He explained, “Since I started acting as a child, things like blocking and eye lines feel natural to me. Younger actors can still be inexperienced. I didn’t have anyone to teach me back then, so I learned by going around and trying to figure things out on my own.” As a result, he often helps guide the younger actors while running the set together with the director.

His leadership goes beyond filming. Park Shin Hye revealed that she personally organizes staff dinners to boost morale, even inviting the cast and crew to her parents’ restaurant. “We’ve prepared a nostalgic prize draw with everything from chewing gum to tablet PCs and department store gift cards,” he shared.
Now 24 years into her acting career, Park Shin Hye reflected on her early beginnings. She revealed that she got into the entertainment industry after being recommended by teachers at church. “My parents weren’t financially stable at the time, so they were against it at first,” he said. “But because I really wanted it, my whole family packed up our lives in Gwangju and moved to Seoul. We started in a basement apartment.”



He spoke with deep gratitude about his parents’ sacrifices. “My father drove a taxi and my mother worked in insurance, served school meals and even cleaned bathrooms. She told me she was never ashamed once.” Park Shin Hye recalled. “Even after my debut, they kept going.”
The atmosphere turned emotional when Park Shin Hye revealed her father’s recent health diagnosis. Holding back tears, she said, “My dad always felt like Superman to me. But he was recently diagnosed with a brain aneurysm and they also discovered a heart problem.” He continued, “It made me realize that the Superman I knew is not invincible. It’s terrifying because you never know when he might break.”
Her honest confession moved hosts and viewers alike, highlighting the actress’ deep love and gratitude for her family behind her long and successful career.
