Actress Han So-hee recently met with the press for an interview related to her upcoming film Project Y, in which she calmly reflected on her emotions during the controversy two years ago, how her mindset has changed since then, and her perspective on life as an actress.
Responding to criticism of her SNS work, Han So-hee said, “I think reactions like this inevitably come with this profession.” He explained that at the time he had made a conscious effort to accept public opinions from multiple perspectives.
“So, I tried hard to understand what the public thought. Ten people can’t all share the same opinion. There might be things that I missed, and instead of dismissing it all as senseless criticism, I thought that some of it might actually be good feedback, so I was careful,” she said.
She also touched on the opinions of her teenage fans, often referred to as Generation Z. Han So-hee noted, “When I look at Gen Z friends, I feel like they now have a very clear sense of self. Many of them know how to accept what is right and filter out what is harmful when consuming media.” He added: “For this reason, I feel a sense of responsibility.”
Reflecting on the period when public attention was particularly overwhelming, Han So-hee said that her attitude towards being watched changed. “I think there’s a difference between then and now. Back then, I examined my standards almost excessively. I kept asking myself why I thought the way I did and why I got that kind of attention, seeing myself very subjectively,” she recalled.
Now, though, she says she tries to see herself more objectively. “Public attention can actually be a luxury,” Han So-hee said. “Most people want that attention, and I’ve already gotten it. Whether it’s criticism or condemnation, I see it as feedback I can hear from the closest distance.”

He continued: “These days I try to evaluate myself objectively. I fix what needs improvement and let go of what isn’t necessary. I’m learning to accept things more easily. I think it’s something I naturally have to put up with because of the nature of this job.” In closing, Han So-hee described herself as still lacking. “I am someone who believes there is no end to learning,” he said. “As an actress, in the career path I’ve chosen, I want to keep going until I hear people say, ‘She’s good at what she does.’”
Han So-hee, who was previously involved in a romance scandal involving Ryu Jun-yeol, now displays a more composed and thoughtful attitude as she views public scrutiny as part of her growth as an actress.
