Japanese model and actress Megumi Furuya has died at the age of 47 after a long battle with stage four colorectal cancer. His management agency confirmed the news, sharing that his funeral took place privately on December 19, 2025, according to the family’s wishes.

In an official statement, the agency expressed deep sorrow over his passing, saying: “From the beginning, she dedicated herself completely to her treatment and fought courageously against her illness. The time we spent together with Megumi Furuya is an irreplaceable and precious memory. We are heartbroken by her loss.”

In that message, he wrote, “Good morning everyone. Even though I live with the pain, I’ve been able to get through the last two weeks relatively calmly. Tomorrow I have another hospital appointment and a CT scan, oh dear! My husband seemed quite worried this morning as I continued to moan with cramps in my legs. I enjoyed the sake and lees soup he made for my birthday. I’m 47 now.”

Standing 1.78 meters tall, Megumi Furuya was a prominent figure in the Japanese fashion industry. She has appeared in major magazines such as Elle, Ryujin Tsushin, Soen and Glow, and walked the catwalk of numerous fashion brands.
