“Is that really Jennie?” BLACKPINK’s Jennie stuns with a bold short haircut

BLACKPINK’s Jennie is barely recognizable in her latest appearance, shocking fans with a bold short haircut that completely transforms her image. The K-pop star recently sat down with American fashion magazine V Magazine for an in-depth interview, where she reflected on her career, personal growth and mindset as she approaches 30.

The interview took place shortly after Jennie finished her cover shoot in Los Angeles. Speaking via Zoom, he looked back on his journey so far, describing himself as someone still driven by curiosity and passion despite his global success.

“I can’t believe I’m still saying this” he shared. “Even before I released my first album RubyI felt that way, but I still feel like a little girl taking her first steps into the world.”

When the topic of her upcoming thirtieth birthday came up, Jennie jokingly tried to dodge it, saying: “We shouldn’t be talking about this!” However, he has made it clear that he will welcome the next decade with enthusiasm rather than fear.

“I can’t wait for this new chapter, not because I’m turning 30, but because there are so many things I want to do. My twenties were full of passion and love,” he explained.

Jennie also reflected on how intensely she lived her twenties. BLACKPINK has sold over 20 million album copies worldwide and made history as the first K-pop girl group to top the major Western charts. His solo debut further cemented his global appeal, charting in the Top 10 in 19 countries.

“I’ll actually be performing in Tokyo on my birthday night and throughout the week,” he revealed, noting that his passion for music and the stage remains as strong as ever.

This month, BLACKPINK will conclude their DEADLINE World Tour. Jennie admitted that returning to tour came with uncertainty.

“It wasn’t that we were scared, but we didn’t know what it would be like to tour together after three years.” he said, candidly discussing the balance between solo work and group work.

One of the most evocative moments of the interview was Jennie’s reflection on the meaning of “home”. For her it goes beyond a physical place.

“When I look at what I’ve created and feel proud, thinking, ‘This is mine,’ that’s when I feel at peace. That’s when I think, ‘I’m fine. My life is good.'” he shared, describing success itself as his emotional safe haven.

He also talked about the convenience of moving between solo and group performances.

“Having different music in our setlists and seeing each other’s performances from a new perspective was fun. Being on stage together again was like coming home.” – added Jennie.

Concluding the interview, Jennie talked about how she sees success today.

“If you ask me if I handle success well, I would honestly say I’m still learning. But I’m proud of everything I’ve achieved so far. I look back, dream big and keep moving forward – that’s how I do things.” he concluded.

With her bold new hairstyle, thoughtful mindset, and unwavering ambition, Jennie is clearly entering her next era confident, curious, and completely her own.
